1.Translate into Spanish the folowing sentences about the plurals:

a.The babies are on the bed.
b.Those men work very hard.
c.These children live next to my house.
d.My  mother gives many kisses to my brother.

1.Write the following information on your English notebook.

Para escribir el plural de los sustantivos en inglés es necesario tener en cuenta las siguientes reglas:

a.A la mayor parte de los sustantivos se agrega la letra S para formar el plural.

Example: Bike ( bicicleta)- bikes (bicicletas)

b.Los sustantivos que terminan en S,SH,CH,X y O, se les agrega la terminación ES.

Examples:

Kiss ( beso) . kisses (besos)
Wish ( deseo) - wishes (deseos)
Watch (reloj) - watches (relojes)
Box (caja) - boxes (cajas)
Tomato (tomate) - tomoatoes (tomates)

c. Los sustantivos que terminan en una CONSONANTE seguida de Y ,se quita la Y, luego se agrega la terminación IES.

Example: Family (familia) - families ( familias).

d. Cuando los sustantivos terminan en una VOCAL seguida de Y, solamente se agrega la letra S.

Example: day (día) - days (días).

IRREGULAR PLURALS

En inglés existen unos sustantivos que no tienen ninguna regla para formar el plural. Por lo tanto, deben aprenderse de memoria.

Examples:

Man (hombre) - men (hombres)
Woman (mujer) - women (mujeres)
Child (niño) - children (niños)
Person (persona) - people (personas)
Mouse (ratón) - mice (ratones)
